Services
Services that deliver results
Our combination of state-of-the-art sonic equipment and years of extensive field experience makes SAMCO the leader in the field of leak detection.
Acoustic Leak Detection
Equipped with sensitive listening devices and headphones, SAMCO technicians identify the sounds of leaking water, which enable us to identify and pinpoint the source so you can reduce water losses.
Visual Leak Detection
Walking and visually inspecting a water system is mandatory, as undetected leaks in remote areas can cause emergencies. When we find surface water in the area of the water system, we conduct chlorine and fluoride tests to differentiate it from water originating from springs, rain water or ground water.
Water Conservation Consulting
SAMCO’s professional, “hands on” field experience gives us the expertise that utilities can count on for consulting services including:
- Leak detection preventative maintenance programs
- Complete water system loss analysis
- Leak detection program consulting
- Water audits & meter testing
- Leak detection equipment sales and consulting
- GPS sub-thirty centimeter solutions data collection
- GPS leak survey mapping design
Global Positioning System (GPS) Services
SAMCO technicians use highly accurate Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment and state-of-the-art acoustic equipment to find subsurface leaks. They are able to detect and locate the smallest of leaks and other sources of water loss for water systems anywhere in the world. Once the acoustic field detection and location work is completed, it is imported into the Geographic Information System (GIS) for display and analysis. SAMCO works to halt and prevent water loss, so towns, cities, rural communities, MUD Districts, military bases and even remote islands can begin a more successful program to improve their overall lifestyle through water conservation. While SAMCO is acoustically inspecting the water system, field staff can collect valuable sub-thirty centimeter accurate geographic information which can be incorporated into new maps and new or existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. The use of GIS allows for capital improvement planning, GASB response, maintenance & leak repair planning, emergency preparedness & response planning, and customer service improvement just to name a few .
Water Audits
A Water Audit is a comprehensive approach to determining the performance and water efficiency of a water utility. Investigation of accountability involves measuring assets (in this case, the water supply) and liabilities (the amount of water used by the utility and consumers) as well as billing, metering, and records. Analyzing the results of a water audit leads to the development of programs that increase the accuracy of water meters, locate visible and non-visible leaks, and track previously unmetered uses.
Water audits can be tailored to fit any size system. An inexpensive audit can be done for small systems to determine an approximation of water loss. A more detailed (but more expensive) water audit can be performed to develop a program for planning operations, growth, finances, and staffing “Best Management Practices.”
